also you always manage to turn something "complex" in behind in a really user friendly direct application, and that's a great job.
yes, thanks
I think it's really important for new users to find tools easy to use in a first approach , even if they have to study them to understand the engine later..
all musicians are not nerds like us...
next one ( padayan ) will be in same idea..

i also would enjoy a gate system! but it must be hard to implement in polyphonic..I .also how to have a visual of it?
mmmm if we could make kind of linked notes, if two folowing squares are same note, find a way to choose if they are considered as two or as one, mmm seems complex for limited precision, maybe with a second matrix bitmap in below that could trace note lenght, set via fade.
Did you try the fall_seq_example of the pack ?
There is two listbox called 'on' and 'off' letting you decide the behavior of cells about 'midi note on' and 'midi note off' ;)
I think it's nearly what you describe with 'linked notes'.

polyphonic midi from array mmmm.
general concept is very nice, good job, one of my favorite!

Have a look at the wiki page here to learn how to use it...

@martin :i don't send you this one for example for the pack cause the fade option is a little esoteric in the method and in beta stage..
