This happened as shown in the screenshot without importing the wkp to another computer.

Although when I did open it on the other computer, my icon showed up in the usine panel, AND usine's icon showed up on my switch!

no big deal anyway....

for the button, as Usine don't know where is your personal icon, he looks in his own folder and found the settings icon ?

for your bus issue, you have to know Usine don't use internal buses this way, so names can't interfere.
Ummm.... so do you know what's happening here, then?

I'm curious what it does on your machine. When I opened this wkp on my other machine, it also put the usine settings icon on MY button, which did not happen when I created the button on my laptop....

It was easy to fix, I just renamed the icon to gSettings.png....

I think we need a list of names to avoid using in our patches!!!

I renamed it to RECORD, and all is well for now.

Is there a list somewhere of all the internal busses for usine, so we can avoid conflicts? There is no 'REC' in the binds list now, but a receive named 'REC' will get data, even though I created no send of that name.

I could see this causing problems that might be much harder to debug. In fact, I wonder if some of the strange buss behaviors I have encountered over the years could have been caused by something similar???

Any further explanation of what is going on would be very welcome!

thanks,
-eric

Needed to search on binds! Also, the settings remote panel help page did not load completely!

Using a binding worked perfectly, feature request averted!

But what I'd really like is the ability to just control the record button in that window via my own button in the IB.

Maybe there is a way to control the button? but I haven't found it.....

Now I see I can learn on the button, although what I want to learn from is a regular button in the IB, not midi or keyboard. I see the binds, I have not used this feature. Could that be a solution?

A search on 'bindings' turns up 0 results in the manual. 'Binding' turns up 1, settings panel remote tab, but bindings are not explained there.....

So.... what are bindings, and how do they work??
