Yesterday I was using two instances of Surr Panner on two separate racks, with one rack playing a stock sample from Usine and the other playing MIDI randomiser with piano note. My CPU was reaching 70%. That seems very high for just two racks. I read on this forum, someone mentioned the number of cores in their processor, and the suggestion was that the number of cores helps with the number of racks you're using. My processor has 2 cores, which made me think that is where it might be insufficient.

My working method is to prepare in advance all that can be done without the need of real time processing.
Then, I make compromises so that the processor occupation does not exceed 70%. For example, a convolution reverb is very greedy. I use a more classical reverb instead. I'm talking about a live project, not a studio one. Often, the quality of the effects can be less good live without affecting the music. This is less the case for a studio recording. I hope this will help you.

I'm used to Logic Pro, and new to Usine. Obviously, I'm loving it, but my MacBook Pro is really struggling. Here is the system. What do you think?
