@ sm_jamieson: If I understood your goals right, you perhaps could achieve most of it by using PluginGuru's awesome Unify VST within Usine.
A little bit late, but A Happy New Year to all!
I expect Unify would do it. However, Usine is almost there, and I want Usine to be the best it can be !
Simon.

I use this live via a touchscreen laptop to control my midi splits and layers, etc. At some point I hope to tidy it up and make some available as Add Ons.
Can I add a direction I hope will be extended - "everything should be patchable". Almost anything that can be entered with a modal dialogue or GUI menu should also be set up via a patch to supply the information. I think this is fully compatible with the items in Senso's post.
In light of this, one thing holding me back in my workspace is the preset manager - the preset name is still not patchable. I have also requested a patchable name for the fxp/fxb VST save/load. My goal is to have automatic export of VST presets into Usine presets, and automated management of VST clones.
Thanks and Happy New Year, Simon.

First I wish you a beautiful year 2022 !
The paradox is that 2021 was a terrible year if we think about the pandemic situation, but on the other side a very good year for Usine. HH5 is a obviously a success and seems to be more stable and more efficient than ever. The community is growing every day and we are now around 5000 users of Usine.
As you could observe by yourself, HH5 contains a lot of new strange modules which can be a little abstracts for some of you. It's because Usine becomes more and more a what we call a "No-Code Framework", which means a platform that you can use to create standalone applications in various domains like audio, video, light, network, IOT, etc.
In 2022 we'll continue in this direction.
the compatibility of Usine with Apple-Silicon CPU's will be achieved in January,
we'll make also an effort to make Usine more friendly and integrate the help system inside the package,
a full implementation of the ILDA protocol for Lasers,
