Yes i understand, but my problem stays the same
I don't see a way of renaming the patch then and I don't want to save every single patch of my workspace
In the piano roll you select a bunch of notes and move them all together, which is great. But when you have selected a certain number of notes, wouldn't it be interesting that when you change the velocity of a note, all velocities of the selected notes change with the same rate ? Just asking because...
Until now I used Usine only for live situation, using the grid, IB & sometimes the Conductor. Now, since it allso has a sequencer I'm investigating the possibilities of using the sequencer despite the fact that the manual states that you shouldn't expect it to replace a tradional sequencer :D After ...
Sorry for the french title of the post ;) I wonder how many Usine users there are here that live in or nearby Bretagne ? I'm asking this because I'm thinking about organizing a Usine workshop in Bretagne.... somewhere around september this year. I have al we need to do this - Room - PA installation ...
Is a listbow slower then other controls ? Example the follwing patch http://www.sensomusic.com/forums/uploads.php?file=list_ex.jpg I would expect that the 'Chord' textfield is updates as the 'Bar counter' textfield, but there is big latency between the two... Normal ? A solution to syncronise both ? k
It looks as I don't find a solution, perhaps i'm not good enough at patching yet.... So I would be realy greatfull if someone finds a solution for my problem """ I want a counter that counts up every bar, but each time I stop or start the audio engine (with SPACE) it should restart from 1 """ thank ...
I need a bar counter to know where I am in my song (in grid or IB mode) I've managed to build a bar counter : Clockbeat module -> +1 module with out back to A -> /4 -> int to string -> text which works My problem is that when I stop and restart the audio engine (with SPACE) my counter should reiniti...
I'm picking up with the IB again, since I've skipped a couple of versions, I'm not realy sure of what I'm saying.
I had in memory that in one of the older IB there was an option to lock object to the grid in edit mode ?
If not, it would be a nice feature and speed up building interfaces.
gurulogic wrote:Sorry to bring up such an old thread but I would like to add that it would be nice to be able to import and / or drag and drop midi files into the piano roll.
data /data manipulation / Change Scale (in 0..1) , enter -80 , +12 as min /max
link a fader to this patch and enter -80 , +12 again and choose "log" as scale...?
After using Usine for 2 years as a tool in some projects, I finally made my first complete song in Usine. So, Ladies and gentlemen we present you The african club , a mix of Usine in live sequencer mode and a couple of live musicians Enjoy http://www.kara-moon.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;top...
No need to change Senso, it took me some time to find out working with the piano roll and samples.
Once you know it it's ok, just consider it as a Usine convention
But perhaps put it in the manual inn the section of the piano roll ?
As far as I know is in MIDI standard C4 considered as midle C, which actualy is MIDI note 60.
Now, if I want to play a MIDI note 60, I have to input a C5 in the piano roll ?
I noticed that in the add-ons there is a MIDI rechannel patch based on modules. This is version based on a script, don't know if it usefull enough to put it in the add-on section, I've just made this one for my own user purposes. ////////////////////////// // Rechannel MIDI messages ////////////////...
Busses are referenced by name. EX. Make a patch with a piano roll and send the midi-out of the piano roll to a 'send to midi bus' named 'tovsti' Now create a new path with the helios synth and connect midi in to a 'get from midi bus' named 'tovsti'. The helios synth will receive midi from the piano ...
Maybe another stupid question, but I didn't find it in the manual
In the mixer channel you can define the send level to an aux bus, ok that's fine
But how do i have access to those aux busses ? IOW how can I put something in a aux bus (ex. reverb) ?
A precision about the rack mode.
When I put a rack in rack mode with the rack button, how does the audio goes from one patch to another in the rack ?
Do I have to put audio out and in in each patch and do those then connect automaticaly ? or do I have to work with named audio data busses ?
Thanks Moody
The first part I figured out.
The second part is my big problem. If i don't release a key, the last midi note off is still send at the end of the bar ! Bugger...
I'm working on my bar quantisizer and most problems I've allready solved. Only one litle detail doesn't work. But I have perhaps complicated the problem to much.... Here is what I have : - The mechanisme of detecting the end of bar, sends out a 1 when the end of a bar is reached. This works. - A mid...
Hi I'm having a litle problem to which I don't find a solution. I have a togle component, which obviously is changing between 0 and 1. At the back of the togle I want to pass only the 1 state to something else. When the output of the togle is 0, I don't want to pass that 0. Any solutions for that ? k
Hi guys Do you have any idea how i could quantise a played note to the bar independed to the length of the played note. Here is want i to do : I play an 1/8 note : it should hold for a bar I held a note for 10/8th : it should hold for 2 bars. I know how i can quantise to the bar with the conductor, ...
I'm in the middle of the preparation of a set for a live performance. I thought it would be a good idea to share the idea of my setup. First of all, I played for years with an arranger keyboard, I actually still use it, only it is used now as master keyboard for Usine. The basic idea of an arranger ...
senso wrote:interesting discussion.
Maybe I could add an option in the setup to automatically restart the synchro when the audio engine is turned ON?
or fix it by default?
Here's another tip: In the global remote you've got Synchro Restart; on the dashboard it's the back arrow between the tempo and x2. Assign Synchro On/Off and Synchro Restart to the same key/controller and you will start from the beginning of the cycle each time. Personally, I've reassigned the spac...
Thanks, but it doesn't solve my problem. HOME is the sequencer return but I don't use the sequencer. Let me explain : I have a patch : piano roll -> VSTi In the piano roll I have 4 bar midi loop. When I stop usine with the space bar when the piano roll is in the middle of the loop and then restart w...
This is a 'perhaps' a stupid question but I didn't find it in the manual.
When I press the space bar when usine is playing to stop it and then press space bar again to start, usine continues from his actual position.
Is there a way to force a rewind to bar 1 ?
nay-seven wrote:thats seems-stop those cigarettes-really -stop those cigarettes-interesting- stop those cigarettes -but yes , what -stop those cigarettes - about performance...?
Usine loads by default the last workspace we where working on. The 'slight ' problem I see with this is that it loads it under the name 'Default workspace'. Now if I'm working on a workspace called 'My song' and i restart Usine, it is loaded as Default workspace and not as 'My song'. WHich means if ...
Just for information, the audio to midi conversion works quit well on voice too if you fidle with it to find the good setup. I've been pretty succesful with the following chain on a (isolated) voice track. Sampleplayer (mono) -> Compressor/Limiter -> Gate -> AUdio to midi _> Piano roll. The compress...
Yes perhaps start another thread, because we'll need some live user too, as i have no idea what live does
A question tough, are those audio loops or midi loops ?
...- no keysplit module included (one of the most basic things for live performance IMO) Yes there is basic one, it's called MidiKeySplit.pat You can load it as a subpatch in your patch and you can combine them to have different splits - a patch is needed for a simple metronome out I think there 2 ...
Hm I don't follow you here, what did Jorgen share ? He developped an application that isn't to expensive just like Senso does, so I don't see a difference ? Anyway, my point isn't about selling patches as add-ons or not, it is just about the fact that Usine, as it is sold, should contains more ready...
Well... if you look at the kvr thread that I quoted in my OP, the guy was saying that he couldn' split the midi comming from his keyboard without using script (or some other math) and that is pretty fundamental for a live player and a usine beginner
Isn't it ?
Well... the F**** Y** isn't exactly what I would call constructive critisme but I see your point. And it's not up to us users to decide if add-ons should be sold. Let's rephraze my statement then and explain a bit There are out there professional musicians that actually earn there money from playing...
It's up to Olivier to decide of course
But I do agree that this would be a good solution
Olivier, what do you think of this
We could help you to determine what is needed for musicians that want to play live 'out of the box' without worrying about building modules or making script...
Yes it is, not for me but it is something I read on other forums. I allways try to defend Usine, but well... sometimes the beginner is right. Look here : http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2843649 a typical example I could explain to him how to make a keyboard splitter, I actually have on...
Or you can use a simple script to do this ////////////////////////// // Filter midi out message ///////////////////////// // parameters declaration var input : Tparameter; var output : Tparameter; // initialisation : create parameters procedure init; begin Input := CreateParam('In',ptMidi); Output :...
o i'm far from an expert but know my way a bit in programming, especially pyrhon. and I think that what i wanted could be done with standard modules too, but I had no idea how (there goes the expert :) ) after looking at the coding examples I realised it was very easy to do with a couple of lines in...
I use Ext since years, even since the beta version. At the moment I dropped it, IMHO there is nothing in Ext that you can't do (or build) in Usine. There are even quit some things that you can do nativly in Usine as where in Ext you need external plugins for. Example : My partner in our duo plays a ...
I have a feature wish for the interface builder Olivier. Here is my problem : I build a patch with a number of controls on the interface builder. Now I save that patch as a sub patch. When I now load a second copy of that sub patch, the controls are placed on the interface exactly on top of the cont...
thanks Olivier
hmm... only that the CC would only be send by the master keyboard if i want tochange the routing and not with every note. If I want to keep the routing I would need some kind of a switch too that keeps the state of the last received CC
no ?
ok here is what I what - I have a midi in - the midi stream has to go to a swith with one midi in and 4 midi out - to the four midi out will be connected a vsti to each out now depending on the CC received the swich sends to midi stream to one of the vsti's CC 0 - 32 : to vsti 1 CC 33- 64 ; to vsti ...
what about this idea :
- keep the add-ons visible for everybody as you have now
- make a download link for a just couple of them, so that non-registered users can have an idea of what can be build as add-ons
this will be a supplementary motivation to buy Usine
I've just paid a license for Usine, so I hope I'll become a premium memeber soon here
Would it be difficult to build a 4 position switch that switches in function from a CC range received
example:
0-32 : position 1
33-64 : position 2
65-96 : position 3
96-128 : position 4
Hello from a new member who is planning to buy Usine :) Since I'm playing a Midi guitar I have a question The problem with a midi guitar is that it doesn't send midi notes off , only midi on. So in principle I would need a litle module that send a MIDI NOTE OFF message before sending the actual MIDI...
