oh yeah.thanks senso. Excited about the VST-improvements.
A little sidequestion: as I'm a new user I have never updated Usine. What's the best way to do this: Just download and paste into same directory and import the settings or is there a better procedure for updating USINE?
thank you!

hi senso!
great updates recently.
but i must say that CPU usage is kind of doubled ( or even more ) in the last updates.
I'm on a very old computer, i know...but some updates ago everything was way lighter than now.
Just to point it out.

great work anyway!

Very curious, the audio engine has not changed since the 5.70. Only few details.
So maybe there is another explanation?
For example if it's a very old CPU, in the setup, disable multicore optimization

yes very curious.
the cpu is old Pentium Ghz.
but i have my "nb threads = 1" yet in place...

Awesome awesome awesome. The new patches/modules sound like great ideas and I'm looking forward to the improvements in the FFT - a super feature of Usine that really lets you get creative with how you manipulate sounds when integrated with all of the other tools available in Usine.

Ok, I am probably a little tired and I'm afraid not to completely understand this topic :
the 5.80.004 is a beta and the 5.80.022 is a stable version but not yet available  ?

@Gdlive, you're right, little confusion with names
Don't worry, no incidence

Some more point on CPU usage.
I exportd a simple patch as a VST, using latest Easine 5.80.022 and loaded in Ableton Live 8.
The main Live cpu meter shows around 11-12% of cpu usage. The exported Easine VST cpu meter shows 55% with peaks of 100%...
the same thing happens if i load the same patch in Usine. The individual patch cpu monitor shows around 6-7% and the main Usine cpu monitor shows around 60% with 100% peaks.
Something that can improved in the main audio engine? Or in the main audio engine cpu measurement?
thanks a lot

...BTW VST export works great! ( woul be great to get the option to not visualize all the Easine engine controls then have a "clean" VST interface!

...and new AFX glitch bundles! (Or was that an earlier release and I wasn't keeping up?) In any case, I had just got done making some myself and yours are way better.
...and moving OSC settings to the main control panel (or was that an ...) which make a lot of sense.
A note re CPU - I notice that when i change versions my ASIO settings change. The way it manifests for me is that when I hit stop in Usine sometimes the last sound grain will keep looping and it sounds terrible. Then I remember to correct the ASIO settings. I wonder if the same isn't true about CPU?
And a note on updates - thanks for linking to the settings FAQ above. I love that Usine doesn't have an installer. It gives us very good flexibility in terms of use. On the other hand it makes the upgrades a manual process. I wonder if a menu option under setup couldn't make a zip file with the master tracks, templates, setup options, yada yada for import into the new version?
And a note on the VST export - nowadays you can style many elements in the Usine control panel the same way you would a button in your patch. Enable the 'edit layout' menu by editing another object then click on the 'IB' button for example. You can set the color and whatnot (black on black, for example). I don't know what support there is for this yet but it seems like a cool hidden feature to me.
