Here's an idea that I will try to implement either way for my projects, but I hope I can get collaborative effort from awesome community here.

I often use two VST's from xoxos as algorithmic sequencers: Hyperion and Circuit, one for generating melodies or anything else and one for generating drum patterns. The idea is to recreate those as Usine patches, and in the process get more options and maybe modular structure to use features of both VST's at the same time, but most of all visual feedback on what's actually going on.

You can find and download said VST's here:
http://www.xoxos.net/vst/vst.html#midi

I spent some years experimenting with them and I'm able to get one such sequencer to generate the whole theme (drums and all the synths with melodies) with one Hyperion alone combined with MIDIReSeq patch I've put together in Usine to distribute the output to corresponding racks. This is quite exiting for live performance improvisation capabilities, but Hyperion and Circuit barely get you any visual feedback on what's going on and thus hard to approach at first and make confident predictions on results from some parameters change.
