why wait ? there are not many differences i think with windows 8 and 7 ,,seamus wrote:Then I will wait thanks.
I dont feel like you will find problems , and think more , windows 8 is designed for use with touchscreen tablets/pc
Sience Usine has dedicated a lot of efforts to make a confortable touch interface ...
I dont feel like you will have problems , absolutely the contrarious
just test it out im pretty sure it will work ... you can trust on me sience im a informatician..
PD : microsoft normally dont want to loose compatibility with programs in their new relases , sience windows Xp , microsoft is using compatibility modes for old versions , to execute .exe's as older windows SO.. so no problem for sure ..but I cannot guarantee to work in all type of mini-Notebooks or Tablets , because there are many product out there and thats another fact .
if your machine is good enought im sure you can do everything
Cheers and good luck

Installed it but an nvidia driver update for 8.1 went totally wrong and all I could get was a black screen. Ended doing a refresh back to plain ole 8 where I'll stay for now... I heard 8.1 had been pulled off the updates for some reason now? Could be wrong though...

I have updated onto Windows 8.1 with minimal issues, all of which were solved within minutes. The benefits and improvements are definitely notable, though. Can't really comment on suitability for non-touch devices but I say you have almost nothing to lose!

it worked great on my other computer but i just had a very bad experience when going from 8.0 to 8.1 on my laptop.
Everything installed fine but in usine i got very weird stuff in the interface builder (things disappearing and reappearing when passing the mouse) and same thing in the patch windows.
i tried various things, the only solution was to desactivate the intel HD3000 graphics.
But then i can't access the better resolution.
So i just went back to 8.0 and everything came back to normal.
There's no official 8.1 driver for intel HD3000.

The HD3000 driver came out just a few days after my previous post, and i have now reinstalled win 8.1 with HH 201.03.012c : from the first tests it seems to be working fine !
I confirm, HH works perfectly on windows 8.1

I have been using HH on Windows 8 Pre-Release, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 this whole time and have been doing quite well.
I also had an Nvidia problem with black screening. This was an automatic push by Microsoft that updated the drivers and was causing contention. This had happened to me on just plain Win 8 update...8.1 went flawless. I went and corrected which one it was seeing and since then Win 8.x has been a champ. I actually have been really impressed with it and has been my favorite to date (and I have used every single version since MS-DOS turned into little gray boxes...LOL).
Besides the black screen issues, the only other problem I had was Driver related with Focusrite...they can't seem to release a USB-GUI driver for their LC preamps. Everything else has actually seemed to improve over Windows 7.
