as its a little embarrassing. I have not found the answer to this... I have a 10 output interface and this software allows me to put both a left and a right to a channel - furthermore on output 2 it allows me to choose 3/4 left and 3/4 right - I am wanting to output 5 speakers to my 5 speaker system and playback at the day of the concert through 5 speakers. Why does this look so difficult? Should they be LL RR or LR LR ???

I'm confuse but I don't really understand the question....
I play very often in live with a surround system (4.0) without any configuration problem.

If I understand the question correctly, you should assign the first Usine output L=1, R=2, the second output L=3, R=4, and the third L=5, R=5 (which would give mono). I'm assuming that the physical outputs are labelled 1 to 10. This setup would be LR + LR + mono, which I suppose is what you're after.
Remember also that you can easily switch between input/output setups, so if you're programming with a stereo setup, you can still have 3 outputs in Usine, all going to the same physical output(s).

I don't know too if I have understood your question, but if you want to output to a standard 5.0 system, you must choose :
- 1/2 Left/Right for FL / FR
- 3/4 Left/Right for Center / (LFE)
- 5/6 Left/Right for SL / SR
I take this opportunity to point the incoherence between the track ouputs which are named L, R then 3, 4... 8 (mono) and that correspond in fact to Outputs 1 to 4 (stereo).
On the other hand, when we use Add Out modules, they are named according to Usine's ouputs.
I we use both the tracks ouputs (1 to

and add some "aux" outputs it makes very strange to have labels going from 1 (Left) to 8 and then 5 to 10.
Perhaps it would be more coherent to use mono outputs labelled from 1 to 20 ?
I don't see the point to have Usine's outputs presented as stereo pairs.

This is what I am talking about - the left right left right stuff dealing with surround sound as some people go 1,2,3,4,5, etc in a circle and some count it differently as 1,2,front 1,2,back and then a center and sub - I guess the point I am trying to make is its weird to have them thought of as Left and Rights to edit this to make myself clear - each channel is a left and a right (1 and 2) and then also each channel has a left and a right 1L and 1R !?- why is it not just channel 1 and then apply a name to that channel? Channel 2 - apply a name to that channel, Channel 3 - apply a name to that channel, etc... I am not getting the methodology of (lets take the second channel for instance) it says On out 2 then by it it says out two 2L (and then below that 2R) and then by each of those it say 3/4 L and 3/4 R? This makes me think I am on drugs. What is the purpose of the Line 3/4 L - Line 3/4 R and then on the next channel I am at 5/6 for the real channel 3? Why do this and why give the option of choosing 1/2L and 1/2L OR 1/2R and 1/2R ?!?! When we want LR LR LR down the line... I know I am missing something here. This is a difficult thing to make clear in an email... I also humbly say that I wish that all of the channels were made available to choose at the bottom of the channel grid rather than 1-2 3-4 5-6 is a 5-6 a pair? There seems to be no set way of numbering the 5.1 surround system and it seems even more strange to put them in pairs. I am a NOOBY... but.... everything is so well done in this software and thought out so I guess there is a good reason.

While I am commenting I wish at the bottom in grid view their was a point and click down the line row - one for each speaker or channel and just light them up 1,3,5, or 1,2,3, instead of the menu box (it seems weird by the way to have a 5 and a 6 being chosen for me when I am not using a sixth channel?) perhaps their is a fear of them getting hit which in that case makes sense in a live situation. Perhaps it would be better to have a lock down for performance option and make them easier to select individually - I am a noob so now I will silencio!

I think I got it - only the first 3 outs should be lit on the setup dialog - which are 3 virtual outs - I was lighting all 5 and wondering why this was such a wreck. Not sure I dig it though.
