Hi,
Would it be possible (for HH4) that the midi learn curve (+ coeff) and the scale be the same for faders and knobs? Now, you can have a linear scale with a log midi control ! or both, etc. I'm used to it, but it might be cool to manage a fader with the mouse/ touch sreen and have the fader react to a power curve or a drawn curve!
thanks
Faders : scale & midi learn curve
hum, the pb is that in computing nothing is free: every curve costs in memory and cpu. I'm afraid that it could seriously impact the overall performance of Usine so I'm not sure. Maybe a simple "S" curve implemented ?

In this situation it might be an idea to have a simple fader, and a more complex one when needed. I know this has come up a few times recently with people requesting more complex functionality in the most commonly used modules.

I agree with Senso ! if all modules become too functionaly sophisticated, Usine will loose it's modular way of life !
For example, I almost never use midi learn, I would be desapointed if my favorite software was to loose overall performance for a new functionality that I will never use. The beauty of Usine in this peculiar case is that you could always insert a curve mapper after the fader to get the desired control.
Usine has evolved thru time to be more efficient, not heavier on the computer, that is very rare in the music software business.

Hi Oli,
I don't want to loose the modular part of Usine, and I also use the curve mapper when needed. The problem is that midi learn curve and scale react in different ways for a single object (faders and knobs). We are "Usine power users"! but for a newbie, It could be disappointed to have in the same time a log scale with a exp midi curve.
@Senso. the S curve could be usefull...
@sm_jamieson @senso @ 23fx23 : an implementation with 23fx23's touch fader ?

yeah, we've discussed this earlier and perhaps it will make sense to just have separate 'utility controls' and 'designer controls', first being regular ones (maybe even stripped down further) and second category would be like Touch fader, but perhaps it needs to be rewritten as it behaves quite a bit differently in some aspects.
