Color array to choose step color in a Array Display

I'd like to be able to set different color for each step of an Display array (or step sequencer ...)

Available on Panel Matrix. Maybe it can do the trick.

That won't really do the trick for me, it's for an easier (quicker) way to read array without counting the steps (something like for a projector have the RGB steps in R, G and B, the dimmer in black ....)

it's not easy to implement it without breaking all the old array's modules.
I'll check it, but the sylvain's trick can do a good job.
