change Surround pan according to a thresold

Unread post by cmodica » 25 Jun 2020, 18:05

I try to find a way to change the placement of a sound in the sourround space, according to the volume of this sound.

For example :
I hit a cymbal.
when the sound is louder than a specific volume, we can ear it on speaker 1
when the sound decrease and the volume is under the specific volume, we can ear it on speaker 3.

I'd like to have the possibility to change the placement more or less speed.

I try with an Envelope Follower and a Trajectory surround pan with a trigger to play trajectory. But it doesn't do the job correctely.
I'm sure it is not a complex patching work, but there is something that i can't find.

Thank you.

Envelopp follower for sure. Then, try to work with arrays (and smoother for the speed).
Sometimes it's also simplier to use mixer modules than surround panner for surround trajectories (and more CPU friendly).

All the best

I test with array and Dispatch module. It seems to work fine if i adjust Attack and Release of the Env Follower.
change pan localisation according to a threshold
change pan localisation according to a threshold
i test with a sampler to simplify, but in the final patch, the audio In will come from an external source.

Thank you.
