Making Kontakt 6 presets work with Kontakt 5??

I have many hundreds of Kontakt presets set up in my wkp, for recall by name. In a mistaken housekeeping move, I recently did a batch resave, not realizing I was doing it from Kontakt 6. So many of the patches won't open . Now I went into the patch and replaced Kontakt 5.dll with Kontakt.dll. Now none of the presets load, because Usine thinks they are not applicable-- I'm guessing?
Now I do have 90% of these still on a backup, but I was wondering if there was a way that Usine could recall Kontakt 5 presets from Kontakt 6. The format is of course compatible, and it seems as if Usine is just detecting a mis-match in the VST name, or something like that??
Any hope for this? I would actually like to move to Kontakt 6 eventually, and don't relish resaving 500 presets.
Thoughts??
BTW, if kontakt pops up an error message and usine is in fullscreen mode, you do not see it, and cannot bring it to the top. You cannot even bring taskmanager to the top. The only way I've found to dismiss it is from the taskbar, which will top if you ctl-shift-escape to try to bring up taskmanager. Then from the taskbar you can left click the usine icon, and then right click the error window popup and select 'close window'. Otherwise as it's a modal invisible window, you can do nothing but shut down the computer!
