Below are popups from two patches. They are identical, except that I reset poly on the textfields at the bottom on the right side popup. The only change is that I turned off show in/outlet for a control that didn't require it. Poly stayed the same, no controls were moved, rewired or renamed.
But after the change, I loaded the same preset into both popups from disk, and only the data from poly voice 1 was recalled correctly in the patch that had been changed. It references a different vst so the param name is different, but the param number is 49 for the first line in both cases. So that recalled correctly. None of the other poly voices did. I assume they got new IDs or something??
Is there a way to reset the connections so that the PM can 'see' the new versions of these controls?
Otherwise, I guess this is another part of the wkp I'll need to save with text files instead of the PM.... I eventually hope to have many dozens of these mappings, and don't want the gui to have to stay frozen in time for fear of losing all the presets!

If you hit "apply & reset" on a polyphonic patch, you will recreate all IDs, so your presets are dead.
There's currently no way to deal with this without break all the presets for everyboby !!!!
But there're new ways to deal with polyphonic subpatches. Use Global Array.
In the example below, you just need to store the Global Array named "VALUE", neither your controls or the others GA. And you can also have the value of the control available everywhere in your workspace even in another shared computer as it works like busses.
Here, you can now edit your polyphonic subpatch as often as you want, change GUI, add controls, you'll never loose your presets.
I know that it can look tricky the first time. But it is very powerfull.
Have a look on the manual to understand the power and the flexibility of the GA.

thanks so much for the example .pat, that is really helpful. Looks like there is good support for loading and saving these to disk as well...
