hey waolelaid are ya doing.

im sorry hehe don't be afraid of such 'osc','iml' or script as long as you don't need them,
Usine is so vast no one can know it all, exept maybe senso. Everyone can find the use it prefers, you don't need at all iml or scripting to use it, the beauty of usine is such weird programming language is accessible easyly with modules, and it's a far
more visual and clear way of visualising flows and build what we are after.
it's like i can speak english and french but not well chinese, well i don't need speak chineese for now, do you?

just for info
Osc is a bit like midi, it can be use to transfer some datas between two softwares or hardware, it's a much heavier protocol than midi, but it allows more complex things while staying simple for the user.
In example it would be hard to ask some names via midi, need to send complex messages for coding/decoding.
(also some midi masters as bsork or amiga909 can easy do that, for most of users it 's seems like chineese.
with osc, the user directly ask to some adress ie /live/track1/names? and osc will returns the names. track 1:name 2:name ect.
so no coding/decoding for the user, the osc do the translate job.
now there are very few hardware that are osc, lemur and monome, iphone, ipad otherwise i don't see. so it's useless for most midi controller.as well there are not that much audio software that support osc, more Vj software do. so you probably don't care at all about osc don't worry!

IML means internal Usine Message and is a way to ask usine to do some operations like create a module, create some wires,
load a subpatch, ect from a text message similar to scripting. as a concrete exemple it can avoid repetitive tasks, ie if having to wire 64in-outs, iml could do it in a single clic.IML is one advanced part of usine wich is very powerfull, but quite tricky to learn, and linked to script learning. so it's a big gap to get into...I love that gap but i can assure you can totally ignore it if never felt limited while patching with module.

good morning nay and 23fx23 and thank you for your help and explanations
i'm going to look at wiki page
for IML it's difficult to understand that it's meaning "internal usine message" for me IUM
and for osc is it open sound control ?
i'm a little bit jerk i even don't know the meaning of DAW
i'm very late with electronic music but i try to make up lost time
and for me it ain't a gap but an abyss
thank you once again
have a nice day
regards ;)

You don't seem at all like a jerk to me! I've been using Usine for 3 (I think...) years now, and I still haven't got in to the scripting or IML... I can saying I'll learn it one day!! DOH!!!
All you need to remember is that if you have a problem there's always learned people like 23fx23 and Nay around (and all you others!!) that are happy to share knowledge.

And OSC is open sound control - if you've got an iPhone or iPad have a look at the mrmr or touchOSC apps and you can use them as a controller for Usine...

the nose in the manual i read it but don't understand what i read
thank you and it'll be better tomorrow i hope
have a nice day
regards ;)
