a loop tool based on Rex system.

Basically can load a loop in sampler, put markers on slices, then the loop is replayed at any tempo.
then can change slice orders, looptime/offset,reverse, pitch, roll steps to quick create loop variations.
each loop can be saved to a patern (preset) (16x8banks) and recalled.
also a patern chainer and simple slice trigger.

tutorial and hints on each item
//addons/groovebox

note: need latest Matrix pack.

included few loops for demo. normally they should load automatically, if not load the included .wav files in order in sampler,
and set tempo to 190, the 100 first presets are filled with loops variations that shows the possibilities.

ps:t he patch is very heavy once unrar, about 100megs, i investigate, but it's probably the 128 presets datas i should optimize
what is saved or not, ill update...

thanks glad you like it.

yeah im happy it makes it's very fast to have variations. previously i was using midi notes and thats boring long.
maybe ill try make it midi convertible and find a way to implement a Rec trigg slices,
also i dlove to make it able to rec a bar realtime and auto place markers on transients to then autobreak next bar.
kind of smatelectronix suppatrigga but based on transients and patern editable.
and the most important is to implement the new cool filters of caco, they should add more nice sound shaping...
but all that will be later for a v2..

now back to liveOsc, still huge work to finish..;)

this looks like a great slicing tool! I wonder if you could use a grain sampler and some patch wizardry to create a version that can "stretch" each slice independently? just an idea that i may try. nice job!

if i well remember it'was ready to be converted to a 8x8. or 16x16.
checking back my patch it's a bit messy hard wired complex to understand i guess, but don't hesitate if need help.

Hmmm, u mean me? If so I was working on a loop slicer for awhile but hit a wall so it never made it as an addon. Too many things that I never finish :(

Unfortunately I can't even open this beast on my computer because it is so big. Usine just freezes and I have to end usine process to release it. Any plans on a making a much lighter version? or maybe i just need more RAM?

@soundmind
mmm, it doesn't load with usine engine off? or it freeze when you swich on?
Anyway there is a pb with the patch i have to fix, database is too big, but not sure how ill
can save datas better way..i think i stored too many datas to pm than make it's heavy.
Ill try to see how to corect that, but i guess it will loodse the presets, anyway, you will
then be able to create yours..i need to find a way to clear or destroy presets maybe. ill try to check that tomorow.

@guru oh yeah, that's explain why i don't found it back :)
im pretty sure i opened one of your patch that had steps to offset slice and was working not bad ne? maybe we exchanged a test on uploader..anyway no worries..

@23fx23
Does not even load completely even with engine off. When opening the patch it only shows a big white box before slowing to a halt. I'm assuming the box is the slicers control panel but for some reason can't see the graphics and usine stops responding. Maybe it is a RAM issue because I only have 512 Megs?

sounds like a ram issue to me. so when's your birthday? Somebody needs a ram upgrade ;)

Hi ,i have the same problem but with 3 Gb ram on W7 and another question which is not only for your patch
why with morphusine, synthayan, loopmasher and other i don't remember I can't reach to have it entirely on my screen
even when i open in an empty workspace ? it's very difficult to try to understand the functioning, of a patch when
you can't have it in full sight I only see half of the patches i try to reduce but after I waste things of the paches
I'm on the 5.25b8 why does those pathes are too big and how to reduce them without waste things of the interface
thank for your answer
good night

mmmmm that's strange i guess yes but haye ya booth Latest Matrix Pack (1.2)? and above B8 version?
i will try to investigate tonight but no clues,...

waleloid: It's probably a screen resolution problem, i am in 1380x960 15' screen and nay probably in hi rez too,
so if your screen resolution is lower, i feel it's 1024 or 800, there will be zoom and cliping as you mention.
I can understand it's boring to rescale all items, even if hopefully matrix make it's easier than moving X buttons.

maybe you can try to increase your desktop resolution, are you on max? what's your screen size and resoluriob?

@ soundmind, waleloid.

Ive templ uploaded a new version where I cleared all the presets exept kept only page 3 for instant demo.
the file droped down from 100megs to 38megs, maybe it will better load for you...
be sure ya have matrix 1.2, and recommand usine beta10 or higher, even thougth it should work on beta8.

/addons/others.

@waleloid: try to increase your screen res, and maybe pressing IB to go in interface builder full screen mode can help ya see more? also can click on yellow circles of usine tracks to reduce them...
hope it helps.. let me know guys how it works...

Hi and thank you for your answers the screen is Asus V W 220D resolution 1280x768
I don't know if it is 21 or 19 but the screen is 46.5cm x 29.5 cm
but if i put on a higher resolution i can't read its too small i've a very bad sight
i've installed the Latest Matrix Pack (1.2) at the same time that 5.25b8
another thing i discovered in morphusine when i click and drag from an inlet of helios (i didn't change the vsti)
i have not in the menu "Vst Morph" as shown in the wiki doku
i'm going to install the latest version but it's always a lot of difficulty because usine doesn't recognise
the Asio and i must always stop the computer even disconnect it
and after one hour reconnect and restart the computer and sometimes it works
I bought a new sound card Presonus Fire Studio Mobile I installed it it works well while 30 minutes
and when i start Usine the sound became very dirt as if i crush stones at 256,512 buffer i didn't go under
I am tired I don't understand the functioning of the internal sound card in W7 (i have no audio in) only the micro
in fact i don't know what to do I'm ready to give up !!!
exuse me

waolelaid, maybe you should try this, it might offer some insight http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml
You might also consider purchasing a new firewire card, preferably one that uses a texas instruments chip.
You shouldn't be having these types of audio problems even on a crappy computer.
Feel free to start a new thread if you need any further troubleshooting help . I would be happy to help as much as I can.

hello all, first this is not to nay to excuse him but me I blended three problems I have
i try to do short @Nay thank you for the patch but in fact i installed morphusine_demo2.zip
and in it there is no "template" so it explains why i don't find "vst morph" and I tried with asio but i'm sure that it comes from the internal sound card
@gurulogic thank you to try to help me I'm going to see the link you indicate
but find a new fire wire card with texas instruments chip where ?
i'll open a new thread in "general discussion" if it's the right place
but before i'm going to have a look at your link
thank you once again to all of you
have good evening and night too
Ho the one I forgot
congratulation to olivier who programs faster than we can test

about asio4all , this don't work only with your internal sound card , you can also choose your reel sound card in his panel

well Nay I think that we let this thread to 23fx and i'm going this discuss
on another thread as i said just a thing in asio when i only have the internal sound card
I find some audio from the graphic card ATI I also have USB audio and SPDIF
I believe that all those audio derange the external sound card we tried the card
on my daughter computer Mac in 5 minutes all goes right tested with logic
I have contacted the technical support of presonus who explain me all the things
to do as disable the internal sound card but i didn't disable all
well i stop here i must gather all the manipulations I did
and I open a new thread
thank again i'm going to eat

well after using this patch on a new "modern" computer i must say this is real patch mastery at work here. great job. I am wondering of a way to adapt this to a grain sampler to allow for some granular possibilities. thanks for the inspiration.

btw i think there are few design issues , i should make a mute/volume otherwise man can get crasy while putting the markers.
and it's a bit webby, ill make a more clean scripted V2.

....also looking for an auto_dectect of peaks by analisys of wavform array. if some has code idea for that
'amplitude over time ' detection (vs absolute detection) on array s let me know...

I am definitely looking forward to this. this would make the REX-like functionality complete.
