convert presets from V3 PM

Unread post by woodslanding » 09 Jan 2020, 09:41

Wondering if there is a way to move my preset data out of the old Patch Manager into the new one.... I'm using a script to write and read from many different PMs in a given patch to give up to 512 presets.

I'd like to migrate to the new PM, but I don't want to reload and resave many hundreds of presets. Is there a way to do this?

Generally preset manager from HH3 load correctly in HH4, are you scripts correctly loaded too ?

Yeah, they do work fine, so probably not worth worrying about. And maybe there's still a limit to the number of presets in the new version?

I do wish that the preset manager was more full-featured. I.e., you could rename presets programatically, reorder them, and tie them to specific indices, even if there are empty slots previously. Wish you could copy a preset from one PM to another or one slot to another.

I have figured out ways around many of these issues, but it's kind of silly to have to create a bunch of empty presets in order to get one in the right slot. And I'd love to be able to f.i. alphabetize my slots (yes probably do-able with a map, or some such....)

You can reorder them by a simple drag and drop, and don't hesitate to add your other features requests in the suggestions forum ?

HH4 Preset Manager is more powerfull than the one in HH3. It's quicker. You don't have anymore problem with duplicate patches.
Fortunately, it seems to be completely functional from HH3 to HH4.
If you clic on list, you'll have a list box with all your presets, you can rename (alt-clic), reorganize (drag and drop), copy/paste (select a preset, clic rewrite, select a new preset).
