5.1 HiFi systems

Hello,

I have to make a sound "installation" in a small room (~20m²). Teh budget is also tight:-). It will be permanent. I was thinking about using a 5.1 hifi system (or gaming system)(e.g. https://www.logitech.com/fr-fr/products ... u1PjRhidCQ) so I can have 5 speakers to work with. How can I use it with Usine? Should the signal be converted in Dolby surround?

I think you'll need a sound card with at least 6 channels (L,R C,Sub,RL,RR) and connect the sound card to the Z906 with x stereo mini jacks

Hello

For a small circus company I had to create music in surround with a very little budget
I used HDMI output of the computer (even via mini display port) but it has to be a PC, never could get it working on Mac
and then a small device HDMI > 6 cinch output (something like that https://www.conrad.com/en/p/speaka-prof ... 29082.html)
or even for this show we found a home cinema system with HDMI input ....

In this case it was just VLC playing 6ch sound files, but I guess you can do that with Usine via Asio4All,

i did it with dolby digital burned on DVD, with DVD player with 5 outputs (LCRLsRs), than analog amps.
it worked well, 6month every day. rock solid.
but encoding Dolby, to DVD, with a menu autostart & loop, etc was absolutely not flexible. better have usine on a small pc !
