Hi,
I've want to change 4/4 to 9/8 and 10/8
I try a lot of complicated solutions,
for exemple how can I simply play 8 mes of 4/4 then 8 mes of 9/8 and 4 of 10/8 ?
is it possible ?

Yes you can modify the number of beat for each mesure, I did a patch like that (try to find it when home)
Get the number of the playing mesure (in cycle) with a master sync, then map your values and send them back to the master sync
something like 1=4beat, 2=9beat and 3=10beat (and you can do the same for /4 or /8) ...

hope it helps ...

you're right, using 8th division in time signature under Usine is tricky.
I'll implement explicitly the 8th division and a kind of signature track, which will simplify a lot.
For now check the synchro & time/ Ben Odd Meters in add-ons.

So I found back my patch but I misunderstood, It was a patch with a changing of the cycle lenght and tempo, no time signature ...

Then I try to built this patch we're talking (with 4/4-7/4-9/4-9/8)about but it's not stable ...
(it can read the four beat of the first mesure ok, and then go crazy for the second mesure, act ok for the third ... I don't understand why ... I tried it with a local sync and it's the same ...)
So I tried with Ben Odd Metter 4.1 (with 6/4-4/4-3/4-4/4-6/4) but it does more or less the same, I see it ok for the first bar, then it play time 1 and 4 of the second bar, only the time 1 of the third bar, time 1, 3 and 4 of the fourth and back ok for fifth bar ....)

Is it something with me or does other people see it acting funny ?

Hi grego mondo,

Actually Ben Odd meters is an old patch, may not completely compatible with the current version of usine, I'm gonna check it, and see if I can find a solution,

Regards,

Ben

You can now create your time signature directly in the synchro panel
click on the tempo to display its settings panel, here you can create a list of bars

But if you need it,here this old patch you ask for:

i know how to create a new tempo signature in the panel, but i don't know how to change it during a track.
i thought that this patch was able to do this...
but you may know how to do what i want?

Thanks Nay!

1.add a Master synchro, click the "+" to reveal all inputs
2.plug a selector string into the "bar list" (choose as many inputs as you want time signatures)
add your time signatures to the values in the selector strings inspector, i.e. val 1 = 3/4, val 2 = 7/8, val 3 = 5/4 etc
assign a fader to the selector strings "select input".

You can now use the fader to switch between time signatures.
8 is not displayed as a denominator, but it is the correct length.

( i wonder if it can do irrational time signatures like 5/5, if so great for metric modulation....
