Problem with HH4

Unread post by NikosT » 08 Feb 2020, 12:19

Hello,

I have a problem with HH4 running on Windows 10. When I try initialize a multi on Omnisphere or Kontakt, I can’t select the confirmation window to initialize multi. It’s impossible to move to the warning tab. Moreover I don’t have this problem with any other DAW. Could you please help?

Thank you

Yes, you're right , we miss your first email, sorry for that,
but understand we need to reproduce your issue to solve it, could take more than 5 days ?
i know there's something similar with Reaktor for example , generally moving the windows , let the second one appear. And as said before Omnisphere don't have demo, and no Kontakt users report this before, so not so easy.

Yes, please take your time. I just wanted to know if it’s bug or I did something wrong. Moreover this problem occurs on any NI Komplete plugin and any other VST I use.

Yeah I just noticed this with Reaktor. When changing an ensemble the save window is hidden behind the plugin window and locks up HH unless you move the window before change. I don't recall this being a problem in HH3 but it may have been there.

I also have this problem. Win 10 x64
It seems that the plugin is forced to be on top of everything always. I tried switching to the dialogue but still cannot access it. Sometimes the computer keyboard can send keys to the dialogue to close it or select an option, including ESC to abort the dialogue. Also, pressing Window-Tab and closing the dialogue allows me to escape the locked situation. Moving Kontakt away from center of the screen, as noted above, is helpful.

Another work around is to use a function that toggles the "Always On Top" status of the plugin window, and use it to turn on the On Top status of the dialogue. I use AutoHotkey. When kontakt and Usine appear to be locked (when the dialogue is launched in the background), I use this On Top function and then the dialogue window appears on top of Kontakt as it should.
AutoHotkey command:

Thanks for your help.
Below video is of the problem.

Hi, any news related with this bug?
this is known bug with NI plugins on windows, i am fighting it a lot.
but, there is workaround i am using
on windows, you can use multiple desktops.

so use "win+tab" key combination, you chould see the "invisible" confirmation alert, move, it to another desktop, navigate to that desktop, click whatever button you need, and you should be good to go

Thanks @drakh for your answer. Unfortunately, even though I can reach the 'caution' window with 'win+tab' key combination, I can't hit 'OK' with the arrow or any other key to confirm the command. This problem is a little bit strange because I don't have it with any other software I have. It is also strange because this problem does not exist with Hollyhock 3.

the autohotkey workaround I mentioned above I think is the most convenient workaround once you get autohotkey going.

Hello @ericzang, I've re-tried your solution with autohotkey workaround (I didn't have any success when I first tried it) and now it works perfect. Thank you very much!!!

Hello @gilkbp, all 64-bit vst plugins are compatible with HH4 on my system. I have NI Komplete and other instruments and effects. They are all work pretty well. I suspect that there isn’t with other plugins.
