thanks
and yep, its 'an inspiring tool
they've found a good compromise between toy and instrument
as I've say on CDM,the best use is not to wait for professional use, but more as an alternative controller
and cheap one..

hello Nay,

i was desesperatly looking for a midi guitar but, impossible to find (Terrractec don't produce anymore the famous Axon which is known to be the best) . My need is to record chords progression and maybe some bass line or arpegiated chords. Would it be possible according to you to do so with that guitar? Is there a big latency ? (i have motu 828). Where did u get it ??

i can leave my adress sliding.0@gmail.com

Cheers

As I've said before it's not a professional midi guitar but could do some good job, to buy one depending where you are on this planet , but you can try this one

To have an idea about chord progression check this video : here

Oh, awesome, Nay!

I got one as soon as I saw the YouTube video where someone was demonstrating the madcatz controller with Kontakt.
It's brilliant - their company managed what the entire MIDI-manufacturer ecosystem couldn't and it was only an afterthought tacked-on to their hardware's primary video game design purpose... something which I myself have yet to even witness, to be honest. I only wish the wireless aspect of the controller worked with the MIDI Out, too. I can't even recall which type I got - I think a Wii version.

Hello Nay ,

I have just got the Mustang and it's a lot of fun playing with it and using yr patch !!! But as usual some questions come up !

- I have tried the mustang with several Synth or sampler (Arturia Mini Moog,Kontakt ), i was playing chords or arpegiated chords and some notes are stuck ! i always have a drone . How can i avoid this ?

- I have tried with the Tassman, but it doesn't propose for the midi input "omni" so i can only use one string. How can i move the different strings to 1 channel ? is it useful that way or a Usine module can do the trick ?

Cheers

hello,
have you see the new function in the global setup/midi in : on the right of each midi device there 's a combo box :
no chan change
just set it to channel 1 and this force all incoming messages to this channel,

about stuck notes , i suppose you have this in strum mode..?

Depending of the way you play, but there's a sub-patch namedMidi send all note off in modules/midi/midi tools/
maybe you can use it with a midi clock to send all note off messages each cycle for example, not perfect but can decrease the ( hardware here ) problem..?

I saw the vimeo video today and purchased the Rock Band xbox 360 version of the midi guitar.
I installed the free version of Usine. Version: Free 5.80.013 and attempted to install the Mustang RB3 Midi Guitar for Usine.pat
but got an error for D:vst_UsineHeliosII.dll not found.
Do I need to install other patches first before this will work?
Also inside of the .pat file, I notice several FNAM= references to specific locations.
Are these just references to the source that comprises the patch file or do I need to worry about these not matching my computer?
Can't wait to get it to work, pretty cool!

Hello and welcome Plbreith,
yes this Helios vsti was a part of old versions of Usine .

You can now find a link to download it on the lessons page here : teach yourself Usine

just install it in your VST folder and reload the patch .

Experiment with this one first cause it's a complex patch for a first discovering of Usine.
but you can of course replace with different VST /effects
