Before uploading this patch as an addons, i would like to have some feedback about bugs, suggestions....



It's a kind of mix between molar and mlr. You can use it with or without a launchpad.


The 4 last rows allow you to change wich sample will be played.

The 4 first rows displays the actual part of the sample being played (first row=sampler A, second row=second sampler...). You can click on a cell or a pad to play the sample from this position.

Go x= play the sample
rec b= activate audio recording
rec pad = activate the recording for the pad in the order they are played (You can record even if the sample is Go x is not activated, a la MPC).

The main preset manager is yet buggy for the moment. Test it if you want to gave me some feedback.

The four options switchs shows the parameters for each samplers.



Here you can see the sequencer part, where you can reorder your slice.
There is also a few parameters to adapt the play speed (nb of beats, nb of bars).

You can choose if your sample will be played oneshot, sliced and looped or sliced and played only once.

You can also choose your source for recording : audio in= soundcard audio in , resampling = all playing samplers will be recorded as a new phrase.

Input quantize allow to choose the kind of quantization used when you play pads live: the same as the sequence or a free one...

Tempo and speed parameters are just visual feedback.

This patch is only for testing purpose for the moment, because they are yet some bugs. Perhaps some functions will be added or will disapear...Waiting for your feedback:

what i like is this slice method , i always dream about monome, so maybe you can give us a cool one

Yes, nay-seven, test it deeply. That's why i created this thread. I spended a few months studying more deeply Usine arrays, matrix module, and monome application ( perhaps later, i will try to make a patch inspired by presscafe from stretta...).

Ask for more information if you need, because i have just gave a rapid presentation...

I have also some optimisation to do, i believe...but will certainly be done at last.

In this version, choosing files is only implemeted with pads, not with matrix cells.

For information, there was a little bug with recording and pm (first slice was not played after recording), and i've solved it this morning.

I added also the possiblity to create a "temporary loop" by pressing two pads without releasing them (as in mlr), but it's not yet implemeted for the matrix cells.

Would like to know also if you have crashes...

And finally, my main question for the moment is: Should i keep the resampling function as a part for each row, or put it in a separate function...

Feel free to give negative or positive criticism, that's what i'm waiting for.

yes i think it's not the priority , could be interesting to work on a "lite " version first

i can't change samples with the last 4 row , only with midi note, could be cool to edit it via the matrix..?

Initially, visual feedback of the tempo with sixteenth notes was reflected in the first row of the matrix. But i have removed it for the moment because it was really too heavy on cpu...
It's just a visual artifact, i will remove it.

By the way, could you tell me the cpu usage on your pc (wich asio settings, wich cpu) ?

No problem nay-seven. The main dilemna with this patch is too combine function for the launchpad AND the tactile interface.

With a core2dou 8400, asio buffer at 128:
Easine with refresh speed at 25ms = 5% to 7%
Usine stand alone with refresh speed at 50ms 5%to 7%

So I will make two final versions....

I've updated the link on the first message:

-You can choose file within the matrix now
-Implemented temporary loop within launchpad (press two pad at the same time without releasing them to set the loop, and press only one pad to stop temporary loop), but is not implemented with the matrix cells
-bug fixed= first slice was not played after an audio recording

I've updated the link on the first post.

A few bugs resolved:
-Drag&Drop was not implemented in sampler A and B (:rolleyes:)
-Changing a preset in the PM could could lead to repeat the same cell/pad avoer and over.
-Changing the played file in the option window was not reflected on the matrix/launchpad and inversely

A new function:
-Changing file while pad rec is activated is now recorded

this looks very deep in functionality. I am downloading the update now. one suggestion I have is to upload the patch to the forum servers because the one you provided takes 15 or more minutes to download at about 25 KB/sec. I am looking forward to continue to test. The concept looks interesting.

Oups, ok soundmind...

i nearly never download from my web site. i will upload it to the forum servers, as i've got a new version....no, two new versions: one for the launchpad, a one only with matrix cells.

By the way, in the version you've downloaded, there is always the bug with drag&drop, it's related with the pm ...definitivly solved in the two versions i will upload.

Maybe i should start to make the wiki for a better explanation about this patch, but diving in Csound is a temptation difficult to resist

This one is only for use with a launchpad or a midi controller with the same midi settings as a launchpad.

Here is a new version. Some little changes to do yet certainly, but the release should be near now.

You will find in the zip file:
- A launchpad version
- A matrix only version
- A Ohm64 version (but with still a few bugs)
- Some documentation ( patch explanation and how to configure another host with Usine vst, here Reaper for the example)

I've uploaded a new version but only for the launchpad. It should the last one before adding this patch to the addon section.

A few improvments:
-Pan parameter
-Start and end position per sampler wich allows to slice only a part of a sample.
-A filter per sampler
-Two different mode for the pitch: Rythm and Melody to make more accurate pitch-shifting.
-A new mode for the recording setting: You can now record audio in and resampling at the same time with the all mode.

I'm also a launchpad user, not easy at first cause first built for ableton, I'll add a video tomorrow with a workspace I'm working on and maybe an add-on later ( I'm using nonome to simplify midi/OSC routing )

Unfortunatly, i've not been able to resolve some bugs in this patch, and i could not work more on it because i haven't got anymore a launchpad
