I've tried with mkv, avi, mp4, mov, all have zero audio output (but video is fine). Am I missing something?

Cheers.

Incidentally, all play audio fine on other video players.

Really? Not one response with 50+ views!? Anyone else have issues? There is no need for the player to have audio outputs if they are useless.

PS. I'm aware I could extract the audio and sync up a sampler as a workaround, but this seems a bit silly as it would probably be a waste of CPU.

http://www.divx.com/en/devices/profiles/video

I downloaded test file from divx its an .mkv

I get audio with this. Maybe we need some more information about type of encoding.

Nay/Senso,

Do we have any specifics on the type of encoding of video/audio that works?

Thanks very much guys. I'm kinda stuck until this is sorted.

I'll try the same thing sephult. I've got a few more things to try out too. I'll let you know.

EDIT: Ok, Cool. The only two that work from that page are the .mkv files labelled WiegelesHeliSki and Sintel (DivXPlus). These report a framerate of 24 fps (which is the default framerate setting in Usine I think. The other videos report 25fps, so there's something.

I'm now re-coding the failures in various programs/converters using various audio codecs to try and narrow stuff down further.

Yeah I found this issue interesting as well, I haven't done a lot of different video inputs, just internal modules.
That find about 24fps and 25fps is interesting however, looking forward to see what you find with re-coding.

Still messing about.

I downloaded.. http://labs.divx.com/divx-converter-cli. Using the graphical 'DivX Converter', after changing the audio output of added video files to mp3 (320kb), they seem to play fine.

I've also just use ffmpeg to convert and deinterlace videos from my camera, to .mov and .mkv formats with mp3 audio (libmp3lame) and they also play fine. So videos should play fine provided we convert the audio stream to mp3.

ffmpeg.exe -i [input-file].mov -vf yadif -r 30 -c:a mp3 -b:a 320k [output-file].mkv -y
|_____| |___| I_|
Deinterlacing Filter Framerate (30 fps) Auto-overwrite

PS. the former tool seems way quicker, but of course nowhere as flexible as the latter. :)

thanks for the update..did a few tests with handbrake and had some issues with the mp4 container. mkv runs smoothly with mp3 audio, but same assets in mp4 wont run..strange.

Hi, I'm new to Usine...just discovered it yesterday. I also have no audio from videos, wav files are fine. Has anybody found a solution or reason for this? Also, the video window pops up sometimes, and sometimes it does not. How do you activate the video window manually? Also, while I'm here, I can never get out of full screen. I have to cntrl-alt-delete to end process to quit. Seems kind of quirky for a $250 software. Working, it looks like it could be quite a powerful program for a lot of applications. Any info greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steve D

welcome tropx, yes, this module is awaiting a solution, cause there's so many video formats, and to add compatibility with most of them and specifically audio outputs, this would make this module too heavy. We're still looking for solution of course. the audio outputs are here but currently it's more safe to simply export the audio in a separate sampler.

to close the video pop up windows simply put its device off , then close the window.

About fullscreen a simple double click will get you back to Usine, can you specify your system ? Mac/Win 23/64 and OS version please ?

Thanks for the reply. I'm currently on Win 7 but will be moving to win 10 shortly. 64 bit. Most of my vst's are 32 bit.

I also have this problem, but I'm mostly posting because I need to start another topic!
