Serious looping module

Unread post by unguitar » 12 Jul 2022, 08:50

Hi,
I'm currently using the most advanced and flexible looping software available: Mobius, which is a development of the Oberheim Echoplex with further possibilities. Unfortunately it is not developed for 64 bits and must find a replacement.
Loopy Pro would be the candidate but it's available just for iOS.

Has anyone developed a serious looper with native modules?

thank you and my best,
Luca

thank you Olivier,
I know Emmanuel very well and I remember he showed me Noundo many years ago!
However the link http://www.sensomusic.org/addons as in the link you provided me is not working anymore, where may I find it?
many thanks

Hello
The development of Noundo is currently in stand by due to lack of time.
But considering the new features in HH5 it would deserve a total redesign.
I have to have an exchange with Olivier because the sampler module which is the foundation of noundo has some behaviors that are not suitable for live looping.

I have experimented with this a little, and the question relates to a recent post about the sampler implementation here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6975. If there was a way to save the recording and share it between sampler modules without interrupting playback it would be much easier to build something similar to Moebius.

According to me the big difference between the sampler and a classic looper behavior is in the recording mode which is linear and independent.
That is to say that the recording does not depend on the position
of the playback head. It does not depend on the speed or direction either.
It is therefore impossible to obtain the same effects as with a classic looper. Except to create a looper with as many samplers as there are recording voices, but this becomes very complicated and makes any expression mode based on numerous overdubs impossible.
You would really need a dedicated module to get something really convincing.
Finally, it is impossible to undo on the usine sampler module.

Undo could be implemented via saved recordings, ideally with an option to save to a memory slot. The Usine Sampler-Recorder does have independent record and play heads no?

Yes .This is a problem to reproduce looper behaviour

Just bumping this. I'd love to have a good looper in HH. I'm holding off reworking the old one, (from HH2, maybe??) and hoping for some of these feature upgrades to the sampler module....
Custom Ryzen 5900x MATX build, Win10, Fireface UFX, touchscreen
Custom 2 manual midi keyboard
Usine, Kontakt, Reaktor, Synthmaster, Byome, Arturia, Soundtoys, Unify

Maybe we need something like a global array but for audio ?

Did you have a go with the looper flite , it's in the oli_pack add on ?
