Show value of control in parameters window
Oftentimes I have a control in my large wkp that is not easy to find or display. It might be invisible, or nested deep in containers in the IB which isn't currently open. Or it might be right there in the control panel, but obscured by other windows. All I want to do is check its value. Is there a reason the actual value of a control isn't displayed in the parameter window? It would really be helpful sometimes. It would make sense to put it as the first line in 'module settings'.
A similar idea that would be helpful in patching would be something like a comment, but that had a value input. Then you could monitor a value directly in the patching window. Of course there may be a reason this is impractical from a coding standpoint....
While I'm on the parameters window, I'll request a 'show in patch' button again. This is the only reason I need to open the context menu from the IB-- it's is closed in normal use.... And then of course when the menu opens, I have to reselect the item I want to show, because now the menu shows the context menu for the 'show menu' button! AAAK! So it's typically a 4 step procedure. It would be so convenient to have it there in parameters. A dedicated button next to the pin would be nice, or it could be the first menu item in 'location'.

Hello,
First point : good suggestion, I've often had that in mind, would be efficient. Maybe there is a reason that don't allow this, I will check with Senso.
Second point : could be easily achieved : Again, many new tricks are going to be provide with the next major release to simplify patching and monitoring of value everywhere in the workspace.
Third point : also a good suggestion.

I just discovered that you can pin multiple param windows. WOW, COOL! So helpful....
But now, a 'show in patch' button there would be even more useful, for navigating back and forth between patching windows....
EDIT: Very clever to use the caption value as a monitor. A trick I will use many times, I'm sure! Thanks!!!

Wow, noticing now that even cables can be pinned, that is AWESOME!!!!
(would be nice to have 'show in patch' there too....)
Also, I see a 'breakpoint' switch here. Is this in the manual yet? I'll have to look.

Hello,
Yes, part of what I announced.
I didn't notice it has already been available.
Breakpoint acts as in a classical coding environment.
It is very powerful as you can show multiple wires or modules. I was able to correct bugs I can't before this feature.

A control can only be visible in one place. If it is in the control-panel, it can't be in the settings-panel at the same time. Of course we could create a 'phantom' control but the patch will be obliged to calculate two controls instead of one, so double CPU consumption...

Could 'settings' be an option in 'where'? I could move it to settings to look at it, and move it back where it belongs when I'm done... That said, the workaround above with caption works.
'show in patch' in settings is a bigger deal, especially on the tiny monitor I use live. In fact, since my IB is the precise size of my screen, when I open the menu it's impossible to 'show in patch' controls on the right side of the IB as they are moved offscreen. And I don't want a scrollbar, as that blocks other controls.

the "find in patch" will be added to settings panel.

Just now saw this response.... did this happen? I'm not seeing it....
EDIT: I see, you have to pin it first. Is there a reason it's not in the main menu?
Anyway, thanks!

Hello,
If you pin a module, that means you already accessed it.
By clicking on a control like a fader, you can use Ctrl-P to find it in the patch.
Best

hi !
I like to use the constant when patching so I can figure out the values, then I remove them when the patch is OK
